EVENING CLASSES 6.30-8.30pm
Introduction to Printmaking with Carol Dunbar
Date: Tuesdays 8 September- 6 October (5 sessions)
Time: 6.30-8.30pm
Class size: 6
Level: Beginner
Class Fee: £125 All materials provided.
This is an ideal class for those with no previous printmaking experience. It will give a taster of several of the main printmaking techniques including monoprint, relief and intaglio. You will have the opportunity to find out what’s involved in each process and create some attractive prints along the way.
Print your own Seasonal Greetings Card with Laura Drever
Date: Thursdays 29 October-3 December (6 sessions)
Time: 6.30-8.30pm
Class size: 6
Level: Beginner and those with some experience
Class Fee: £140 All materials provided.
Our popular annual card making class will introduce basic lino-cutting techniques to produce images with a seasonal theme. These will then be printed in a small edition of up to 10 cards each using our Columbian press.
Introduction to Letterpress with Carol Dunbar
Date: Tuesdays 17 November-15 December (4 sessions, spread over five weeks)

Level: Beginner and those with some experience
Class Fee: £125 All materials provided.
Learn the traditional skill of typesetting and produce a short text or poster printed using our unique collection of letterpress and our Columbian press.
Introduction to Japanese Bookbinding with Carol Dunbar
Date: Tuesdays 12 January-16 February (6 sessions)
Time: 6.30-8.30pm

Level: Beginners and those with some experience
Class Fee: £140 All materials provided.
The sessions will introduce a series of traditional Japanese stab-bindings. Over the course of the six weeks, you will have the opportunity to produce a series of hand-made books using a variety of decorative papers and stitching styles.
Introduction to Linocut with Laura Drever
Date: Thursdays 14 January-18 February (6 sessions)
Time: 6.30-8.30pm
Class size: 6 Level: Beginners and those with some experience
Class Fee: £140 All materials provided.
The sessions will introduce the relief printing process through lino cut. The sessions will include image preparation, use of the various tools used, inking up blocks and printing a small edition of prints using our Columbian press.
WEEKEND WORKSHOPS Saturday & Sunday 10am-4pm
Bookbinding with Gillian Stewart
Time: 10am-4pm
Class size: 6
Level: Beginners who are good with their hands, as well as those with some experience.
Class Fee: If booking both days £140 If booking one day only £80
The classes will introduce the skills, materials and tools to create distinct and beautiful albums.
Saturday 28 November: Accordion hinge album. Using neatly folded paper and clever cuts, we can make a book that can accommodate prints and photos being added, while allowing us to take out and rearrange the pages. Finished with a hidden magnet closure and an exposed spine. Adhesive free binding.
Sunday 29 November: Long stitch photo album. A hardcover book with exposed spine sewing, made with a small companion book to demo different ways to mount prints into your books.
Based in Glasgow, Gillian is a prize-winning bookbinder, a QEST Ambassador and graduate of Glasgow School of Art, she founded JuJu books in 2017. This will be Gillian’s fourth visit to Soulisquoy. https://www.jujubooks.co.uk/
Introduction to Collagraph with Carol Dunbar
Date: 30&31 January 2027
Time: 10am-4pm

Class Fee: £140
Collagraph is a perfect introduction to the intaglio and etching printing process. The two-day workshop will include preparing images suitable for the technique, transferring them to your plate and printing a small edition using our etching presses.
Introduction to Screenprint with Nick Gordon
Date: 20&21 February 2027
Time: 10am-4pm
Class size: 4 Level: Beginner and those with some previous screenprinting experience
Class Fee: £140
Over the course of the two-day workshop you will have the opportunity to create a small edition of a two-colour screenprint created with hand drawn stencils and exposed on to the screen using light sensitive emulsion
